DAIQUIRI with CRAB CAKES & MEATLOAF

In this episode of Consuming Cinema we are making and pairing a Daiquiri with Crab Cakes & Meatloaf from the 2005 Comedy Wedding Crashers in honor of my parents' 35th Wedding Anniversary.

Ingredients:  


Daiquiri:  

2 oz light rum 

1 oz lime juice 

.5 oz simple syrup  


Crab Cakes:  

1/2 lb lump crab 

1 egg - beaten

8 crackers crushed 

Tsp parsley 

Tsp Worcestershire 

2-3 tsp Old Bay 

Zest and Juice Half Lemon 

Tsp salt 

Tsp pepper 

1/4 C Mayo 

2 tsp dijon 

Melted Butter (Before Baking) 


Meatloaf:  

1 and a half pounds lean ground beef 

Half pound ground pork/sausage 

2 eggs 

1 cup dried breadcrumbs 

1/2 C milk 

3 tbsp ketchup 

2 tsp parsley 

Tsp soy sauce 

Tsp Dijon Mustard 

1 onion plus 

2 cloves garlic 

2 tsp salt 

2 tsp pepper  


Meatloaf Sauce: 

1/2 C ketchup 

2 tbsp brown sugar 

1 tbsp red wine vinegar 

1 tsp dijon
